Polish Information Processing Society (Polskie Towarzystwo Informatyczne) - basic facts

The Polish Information Processing Society was established in 1981 as professional organization representing people who work in the IT. From its beginning the PIPS fosters links between experts from industry, academia and business promoting education, knowledge sharing, codes of conduct and skills frameworks. It voices the Society’s members opinions, needs, interests, and rights in relations with the general public, local and central government and with other associations in Poland and abroad. In 1992 PIPS was the first organisation from the post-communist countries to become a member of the Council of European Professional Information Societies (CEPIS).

With a membership of over 1,300 PIPS is Poland’s largest professional association dedicated to advancing technological innovation by promoting the study and application of computing technologies. Members of the Society are individuals who have computer sciences or information technology degrees, or for at least 3 consecutive years were working in, broadly understood, information technology.

Currently, PTI cooperates with 70 examination centers and 740 laboratories (including 400 educational and 185 mobile laboratories).

Since many prominent specialists in different IT fields are PIPS members, we also offer a wide range of consultancy services through our Chamber of Experts (Izba Rzeczoznawców). By using their knowledge, resources and expertise we were able to provide independent, objective opinions, help to adopt best practices, perform analysis and solve many complex cases in various ICT projects.
